Organisation Description:

Nilson Farms is a small family farm located in Hoople, North Dakota, that cultivates approximately 4,500 acres of various crops, with a primary focus on seed potatoes. The farm also grows wheat, soybeans, and canola.

Job Description:

Job Duties:

• Spring (March to May):
  • Shipping potatoes
  • Operating a skid steer
  • Driving a truck
  • Grading potatoes (removing defects/debris)
  • Operating other farm equipment
• April and May:
  • Planting season activities
  • Tractor operation
  • Tillage and planting
  • Farm truck driving
  • Shop work
• Summer:
  • Crop care and machinery preparation for harvest
  • Spraying crops
  • Driving a water truck
  • Handling chemicals
  • Row crop tillage
  • General farm duties as assigned
• Fall (August to October):
  • Wheat harvest
  • Operating a combine, truck, and tractor
  • Potato harvest beginning early September
  • Operating a tractor for the potato harvester
  • Equipment cleaning and field preparation for winter/next year (e.g., pressure washing, simple tillage)
  • Soybean harvest (combine operation)
• End of October:
  • Shipping potatoes
  • Routine repairs and maintenance on equipment

Note: Per state regulations, the employer is exempt from requiring a commercial CDL for farm trucking. No commercial or heavy truck driving is required.

  • Regular driver’s license within 30 days of hire
