Summary
Personal Care:
– Washing
– Bathing
– Dressing/ Undressing
– Dental Hygiene

Putting to Bed:
– Undressing/ Dressing
– Washing/ Bathing as directed
– Ensuring clients are safe and comfortable on their beds

Toileting:
– Accompanying Clients to the toilet
– Assisting clients in the use of the commode
– Emptying of the commode
– Changing incontinence bags
– Ensuring clients are comfortable when toileting
– Ensuring clients are clean after toileting

Meals:
– Supervising clients with meals/ meals on wheels
– Preparing light snacks
– Cooking meals
– Providing clients with hot/ cold drinks
– Feeding clients that are unable to do so for themselves
– At all time ensure that you are aware of your client’s dietary needs.

Medication:
– Only give medication when instructed to do so by a home care consultant
– Remove medication from the dosset box
– Either place in a small medication beaker or the client’s hand as they prefer.
– Supervise the client while they are taking the medication
– Return the medication to the dosset box.
– Apply any creams lotions as instructed and wash hands immediately afterwards.
– Record the medication taken on the daily report sheet
– Report any refusal of medication immediately to a home care consultant

Domestic Services:
– Housework
– Laundry
– Ironing
– Shopping
– Pension collection
– Bed changing/ making

Escort Service:
– Accompanying or taking clients for appointments and visits

Sitter:
– To stay with client for an agreed number of hours and depending on the amount of time provided all of the above

Collection of Client Contributions:
– Collect a contribution from the client as indicated on the care plan
– Issue a receipt for the money collected and hand it to the client
– Submit the contribution to the office, on weekly basis, with a written report

Reporting Changes in Client’s Circumstances:
– Report immediately to the office if you cannot gain access to a client’s home
– Report any changes in a client’s circumstances or condition
– Report to the office if you are issued with keys to a client’s premises by any other source other than the office
– Report anything that you perceive to be a Health and Safety hazard in the client’s home
