Are you a passionate, Montessori-trained teacher? Do you want to be part of a team dedicated to growing the Montessori movement? Join our team and lead your very own Children’s House classroom! In this role, you’ll create and lead a model classroom. Through your efforts, parents will see what’s possible for their child when authentic, high-quality Montessori education is implemented in a prepared environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a Montessori Children’s House classroom for children aged 3-6.
- Prepare and maintain an environment that promotes the development of independence, self-discipline, and concentration.
- Utilize a full set of high-quality Montessori materials provided by leading manufacturers.
- Develop unique classroom settings with the help of a classroom budget.
- Guide children in their educational journey, helping them to become independent learners.
- Partner with parents to support their child’s development and learning process.
- Collaborate with colleagues, offering and receiving guidance to ensure best practices.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with Montessori methods and principles.
Qualifications:
- Earned a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject.
- Received a Montessori Diploma/Certificate for the 3-6 age group, or willingness to complete free Montessori Certification training.
- Completed 90 clock hours of approved pre-service training, including 45 hours in child growth and development, 45 hours in curriculum, and a 9-hour communication course.
- Experience working with children in a group setting such as a preschool, daycare, childcare, nursery, or Reggio Emilia center.
- Strong desire to help children develop independence and a love for learning.
- Openness to guide and be guided by colleagues in a collaborative environment.
- Enthusiasm for partnering with parents in their child’s educational journey.
- Pride in your work and a positive attitude towards continuous improvement.
