About the Role
WEG Electric Corp. is looking for a Warehouse Manager to join our team. This role involves leading a team of three supervisors and thirty employees at our new 70,000 sq. ft. facility in Mississauga, Canada. The distribution center manages an inventory worth $5 million. The primary goal of this position is to ensure efficient and effective warehouse operations, ultimately enhancing the customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procedures for handling shipments, managing materials, and tracking inventory.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations, and maintain safety and health standards in the workplace.
- Meet and maintain productivity targets.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager to develop operational plans for warehouse and transportation, aligning with organizational goals.
- Determine the financial resources needed to support operations and justify departmental spending; assist in developing departmental budgets.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance departmental efficiency.
- Analyze departmental functions, processes, and asset use, and report findings to the Senior Manager.
- Manage team performance, including training, coaching, and corrective actions when needed.
- Make decisions based on professional methods and experience to achieve desired results.
- Manage international and domestic shipping, including inbound and outbound shipments.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Education
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
Knowledge / Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, Oracle, Power BI, or other Business Intelligence software.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role in warehousing or distribution management.
- Proven track record in managing distribution facilities and implementing standard operating procedures.
- Solid experience in order picking, shipping, receiving, and product handling.
- Familiarity with racking, bulk storage, and cycle counting.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and warehouse best practices.
