Tennessee Tech University
The Physics Department at Tennessee Tech University is looking for two full-time instructors to join from August 2024 for a year. These positions are not tenure-track. The instructors will teach basic physics courses that use calculus and algebra. This includes giving lectures, leading labs, and teaching in a studio-style format.
These roles are great for recent graduates or postdocs who want to gain teaching experience using effective methods. There may also be chances to do research. The department plans to hire for longer-term roles soon, and successful applicants for these positions may be able to apply.
Applicants need a master’s degree in physics or a related field, and having a Ph.D. is preferred. For more details, you can contact Dr. Steve Robinson, the Department Chair, at sjrobinson@tntech.edu. Tennessee Tech University is in Cookeville, TN, which is between Nashville and Knoxville and around 90 miles from Oak Ridge National Lab. More information about the department can be found at https://www.tntech.edu/cas/physics/index.php.
To apply, visit www.tntech.edu/jobs and submit a cover letter (including any teaching experience), a resume, copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts (official transcripts needed if hired), and contact details for professional references.
