About the Role:
Starship Children’s Hospital is offering four fixed-term, full-time fellowships in Paediatric Anaesthesia and Paediatric Intensive Care. The role is split between 6 months in paediatric anaesthesia and 6 months in paediatric intensive care. You will work in a wide variety of anaesthesia cases, including airway surgery, cardiac anaesthesia, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, and paediatric general surgery.

Fellows will:

Gain exposure to all major subspecialty areas of paediatric anaesthesia.
Participate in audit and departmental activities.
Occasionally be involved in on-call duties.
This fellowship is ideal for those nearing the end of their training or who have completed formal anaesthesia training but wish to specialize further in paediatric anaesthesia and intensive care.

About the Team:
The Department of Paediatric Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at Starship handles approximately 11,000 cases per year and manages 1,500 patients for procedures outside the operating room (MRI, CT, radiology procedures, etc.). The team works across 7 operating rooms at Starship Children’s Hospital and additional sessions at the Greenlane Surgical Unit.

Requirements:
Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand or eligible for registration.
Candidates must be eligible to work in New Zealand (preference given to NZ citizens and residents).
Applicants should be in an accredited anaesthetic training program (equivalent to the Australasian FANZCA) or have an anaesthetic fellowship equivalent to FANZCA.
Overseas applicants need EPIC source verification of their qualifications for registration.
Successful overseas candidates requiring a work visa will receive support for their visa application.
