Job Duties:

Pre-Harvest Orchard Maintenance:
- Pruning trees
- Weeding
- Removing vines
- Thinning fruit
- Planting, tending, and harvesting garden crops
- General farm labor necessary for farm operation
Harvesting Tasks:
- Picking peaches, cherries, apples, and other tree fruit by hand
- Using hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, and shears
- Picking lower branches from standing on the ground
- Using ladders up to 22 feet long and weighing up to 50 pounds for upper branches
- Placing picked fruit in molded-plastic canvas-covered picking buckets or other vessels (buckets may weigh up to 60 pounds when full)
- Ensuring all fruit is handled with care to avoid bruising and damage (injured fruit must not exceed 2% as defined in the U.S. standards for grades)
Additional Requirements:
- Physically able to lift up to 60 pounds
- Exposure to pesticides, extreme temperatures, light rain, and allergens
- Ability to perform manual activities with accuracy and efficiency
- Picking a minimum of 21 bushels per hour unless there is an adverse effect on production
- Piece rate in effect for apple picking only, other tasks will be paid hourly

Months of Experience Required: 3 months working in an orchard picking tree fruit by hand
Special Requirements:
- Workers may be asked, but not required, to work longer hours than stated in the job offer due to the demands and unpredictable nature of agriculture
- Start and end times may be adjusted daily to meet crop and weather conditions

Number of Hours Per Week: 40
Work Schedule (Start/End time): 7:00 A.M. – 2:30 P.M.
