Job Purpose:
Oversee and manage all IT functions and systems at NUV to ensure they operate securely and efficiently.
Position Summary:
You will handle the management, implementation, maintenance, and development of all computer and information systems at NUV. This includes ensuring the effective operation of all related hardware, software, and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand NUV:
- Learn about NUV’s mission, structure, IT systems, and regulations.
- Manage IT Functions:
- Oversee the development and maintenance of NUV’s IT systems.
- Create and execute plans for handling complex changes and new services.
- Manage IT staff, including recruiting, training, and performance monitoring.
- Monitor daily IT operations, including servers and software.
- Define, document, and complete IT projects, managing risks and reporting to stakeholders.
- Select and purchase new hardware and software as needed.
- Coordinate technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Test and troubleshoot IT systems.
- Ensure IT activities comply with laws and regulations.
- Develop a disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
- Stay updated on technology advances and best practices.
- Design and support IT training for staff and students.
- Review and oversee IT staff performance.
- Work with Deans to address specific IT needs.
- Prepare and manage the annual IT budget.
- Additional Duties:
- Attend regular NUV management meetings.
- Advise on key IT issues.
- Manage IT-related conflicts and issues.

Qualifications:
- University Degree in IT or a related field from a recognized institution.

- Experience with IT systems, hardware, and software, especially in education.
- Ability to develop IT strategies and lead teams.
- People-oriented, inclusive, and results-driven.
- Excellent communication, active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Required Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of IT management experience.
- Proven success in technical management, information analysis, and understanding of IT systems for educational institutions.
Language Skills:
- Fluent in English, French, and Bislama.
