Qualifications:
A four-year degree from an accredited institution.
NC certification in the assigned area of teaching.
Reports To:
Principal.
Job Goal:
Demonstrate leadership and create a respectful environment for a diverse student body.
Facilitate student learning and reflect on teaching practices.
Responsibilities:
Leadership: Work with staff and administration to create a shared vision and purpose for the school.
Engaging Instruction: Make content relevant by aligning with common core, essential standards, and 21st-century skills (e.g., global awareness, financial literacy, civic literacy, and health awareness).
Curriculum Development: Revise existing core content to include skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and ICT literacy.
Diverse Methods of Instruction: Use various teaching methods and integrate technology.
Assessment and Teamwork: Assess students’ learning and encourage teamwork and leadership development.
Collaboration: Work with families, adapt teaching for students with special needs, and embrace diversity.
Ethical Principles: Follow the Code of Ethics for NC Educators and Standards of Professional Conduct.
Team Player: Model teamwork, continuous improvement, and organizational core values like respect, integrity, and high expectations.
Other Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
Must be able to physically perform tasks like kneeling, sitting, walking, lifting, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motions.
