Job Duties:

• Corn Detasseling:
  • Walk down aisles between corn plants to detassel seed corn.
  • Remove rogue plants, weeds, and volunteer corn plants from seed corn production fields.
  • Hand weeding by digging up weeds below the soil surface.
• Corn Pollination and Maintenance:
  • Perform tasks related to pollination and overall maintenance of the corn fields.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk miles per day while pulling tassels from each corn stalk.
  • Work at least 6 hours a day in various weather conditions (hot, humid, rain).
  • Exposure to pollen throughout the day.
  • Must have the strength and endurance to perform the tasks quickly and skillfully with hands.
