Pay and Training

Starting hourly pay is $28.88, with top pay at $67.11 per hour based on seniority. Additional compensation is available for language skills, leadership roles, and international trips.

You’ll start with a 6.5-week training in Houston, TX, focusing on United’s safety and customer service standards. After successful completion, you’ll be a full-time employee assigned to one of our hubs or other base locations.

During training, United provides a $140 per week per diem, accommodations, and meals.

Responsibilities

As a United flight attendant, your responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring safety at all times
  • Providing excellent customer service with empathy and professionalism
  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours
  • Working independently and as part of a team
  • Making each flight a memorable experience for our customers

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 21
  • High school diploma or GED; some college preferred
  • At least one year of customer service experience
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Hindi is required
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and emergencies
  • Professional appearance with adherence to grooming and uniform standards

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy objects, reach overhead bins, and operate equipment
  • Comfortable standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and stretching
  • Ability to operate electronic devices for work tasks

Training and Onboarding

During training, you’ll undergo a water evacuation drill and various screenings. Pre-employment drug screening and background checks are required.
