Key Responsibilities:
- Layout Design and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze layouts to optimize production flow and efficiency.
- Identify critical operations and recommend improvements.
- Capacity and Production Studies:
- Conduct capacity studies to determine optimal production levels.
- Perform method studies, time studies, and production studies to streamline processes.
- Line Balancing and Workforce Management:
- Balance production lines to minimize work in progress (WIP) and ensure smooth workflow.
- Daily manpower balancing, setting production targets, and monitoring achievement.
- Bottleneck Identification and Problem Solving:
- Identify and minimize bottleneck areas in production.
- Coordinate with senior management and line managers to resolve issues.
- Performance Monitoring and Efficiency Calculation:
- Monitor workers’ performance and conduct skill tests.
- Calculate efficiency, non-productive time (NPT), and develop productivity enhancement strategies.
- Production Planning and Scheduling:
- Review production schedules and engineering specifications.
- Develop and communicate production standards in collaboration with management.
- Quality and Defect Management:
- Monitor DHU (Defects per Hundred Units) and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Conduct problem studies and take corrective actions.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Communicate regularly with production floor and line management.
- Report findings, progress, and challenges to superiors.
Skills & Expertise Required:
- Strong knowledge of IE principles and planning in knit garment production.
- Proficiency in capacity planning, production efficiency analysis, and line balancing techniques.
- Experience in managing production schedules and quality standards.
- Ability to conduct detailed studies such as time studies, method studies, and efficiency calculations.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and report findings accurately.
