Cornell University is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Associate focused on educational assessment as part of its initiative to innovate student learning assessment at the course level. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Faculty Director of the Active Learning Initiative to analyze and research assessment practices. Responsibilities include organizing the Working Group on Innovation in Assessment, supporting faculty in experimenting with new assessment methods, and compiling and evaluating outcomes for sharing within Cornell. The role also involves leading research publications emerging from the initiative.

Candidates should have practical teaching experience, expertise in education research methodologies, and an interest in pedagogy and student learning assessment. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential. The Postdoctoral Associate will engage with Cornell’s Center for Teaching Innovation, participate in seminars, and collaborate with discipline-based education researchers. The position requires residence at Cornell during the academic year, with a starting salary of $65,000 per year plus benefits, moving expenses, and a research allowance of up to $2,000 annually.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. received no earlier than September 1, 2019, or expect to complete all Ph.D. requirements by July 1, 2024. The appointment begins on July 1, 2024, with annual contracts renewable for up to three years.
