About the Role:
The Drug and Alcohol Clinician at Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) provides vital services to individuals with substance use issues. You will deliver intake assessments, evidence-based interventions, and case management to individuals referred to the service. This role focuses on supporting clients through advocacy, counseling, therapies (such as CBT, DBT, and MI), withdrawal supervision, and opioid treatment case management. Occasionally, this may include assisting with opioid treatment dosing.

You will work with individuals across all age groups, from children and adolescents to adults and the elderly, offering age-appropriate services. The role also includes providing professional advice and collaborating with other health, community, and welfare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide intake assessments and evidence-based interventions to clients with substance use issues.
Case management for individuals undergoing opioid treatment and withdrawal supervision.
Offer advocacy and deliver therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Liaise with other professionals in health, community, and welfare services.
Provide age-appropriate services to clients from various age groups.
Maintain adherence to NSW Health guidelines for drug and alcohol services.
Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant qualifications in drug and alcohol counseling, social work, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in providing substance use interventions and case management.
Knowledge and experience in opioid treatment and withdrawal supervision.
Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, and MI.
Experience working with individuals across all age groups, including children, adolescents, and the elderly.
