Focus on our activities in Niger PUI has been active in Niger since 2017 as part of its regional strategy in the Central Sahel, responding to deteriorating security conditions in the “three borders” area. We implement health programs to aid vulnerable populations. Presently, PUI has a coordination office in Niamey, operational bases in Ouallam and Torodi (Tillabéri region), and one in Maradi. Supported by BHA and CDCS, PUI aims to enhance healthcare access, strengthen community-based surveillance systems, and sustainably reinforce health structures in Tillabéri and Maradi. Our teams support local health systems through health center assistance and mobile clinics, ensuring healthcare access.
And what about the Head of Mission? As Head of Mission, you will oversee mission operations and development. Your responsibilities include:
- Security: Ensuring mission security
- Programs: Coordinating teams, overseeing program implementation, identifying needs, and proposing new interventions
- Human Resources: Managing staffing needs, setting objectives, and providing team guidance
- Logistics, Administration, and Finance: Ensuring compliance with PUI procedures and donor rules
- Medical and Technical Oversight: Ensuring compliance with PUI intervention policies
- Representation: Acting as liaison with partners, donors, media, and authorities
- Headquarters Relations: Facilitating information flow and meeting deadlines
Challenges ahead:
- Operational development in limited access contexts
What you need to succeed:
- Education: Minimum Master’s degree in a humanitarian-related field (project management, technical training in intervention sectors, HR management, financial management, etc.)
- Experience: At least three years in international NGO fieldwork, including project coordination and team management, with experience in security management and ideally in a similar leadership role
- Skills: Strong project management and team leadership skills, familiarity with major donors, and excellent writing abilities
- Qualities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, team player, decisive, reliable, organized, responsive, adaptable, and stress-resistant
- Languages: Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous

What PUI offers:
- Position: Fixed-term contract
- Monthly gross salary: €3,330.00 – €3,930.00 depending on international solidarity experience + €50 per semester with PUI
- Insurance: Medical coverage, 24/7 assistance, repatriation, and pension plan
- Housing: Individual housing allowance
- Daily Living Expenses: Per Diem
- Break System: 5 working days every 3 and 9 months + break allowance
- Paid Leave: 5 weeks per year + round-trip airfare every 6 months
