Stanford University School of Medicine is looking for an Associate Director of Faculty Relations. This role involves handling complex investigations and cases with potential university-wide impact. Reporting to the Director of Faculty Relations, the Associate Director will lead a portfolio of cases, provide expertise on policy and legal risks in areas like employee and labor relations and research compliance, and work closely with the University Office of General Counsel. This position also includes representing the School of Medicine at meetings and depositions, and providing training and support to School Chairs and Associate Deans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic planning and analysis for complex programs with significant challenges.
- Manage and direct the development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of programs.
- Act as a subject matter expert on policy and regulation interpretation and compliance.
- Recommend actions and resolve complex issues across organizational boundaries.
- Represent the program or function at the university level and to stakeholders.
- Direct and manage outreach strategies including relationship development and communications.
- Oversee or supervise staff in program development and implementation.
- Develop and manage budgets, including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree.
- Experience leading internal investigations.
- Experience in mediation standards and practices.
Education & Experience (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree and ten years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Salary:
- Expected pay range: $163,000 to $204,000 per year.
- Pay is determined based on the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications, departmental budget, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
